The project began with the creation of intricate screen graphics. Collaboration with the Finnish Defence Forces at every phase ensured the visuals achieved unparalleled realism. Realism was paramount and hitting the story beats. Stringular was once again in the "FUI dream screen team". Led by Pasi Jakkula—one of Finland’s most experienced VFX and screen graphics experts—the team brought together talent from prior productions, creating a synergy that elevated the results. Antti Honka, who wore multiple hats as an actor, and graphic designer, took charge of live-action screens on set and the creation of the interactive screens.

Collaborative Efforts in VFX
Risto Haapiainen and his studio, Király, handled hundreds of VFX shots. Stringular complemented their efforts with around 40 shots, ranging from straightforward elements comping, and object removals, to highly complex compositions. You can spot glimpses of some of these shots in the reel.

The Ultimate Set Hack
What’s the best way to manage live FUI screen graphics on set? Disguise yourself as an extra! This hands-on approach not only streamlined the workflow but also ensured that every screen served the storyline, creating a seamless viewing experience. This practical approach allowed us to efficiently manage over 100 screens which needed constant updates to align with the storyline. The thrill of rendering sometimes last-minute updates added an exhilarating layer to the process.

Conflict was more than just another project—it was a thrilling, high-stakes collaboration that showcased Stringular’s ability to blend creativity and technical precision in the production environment.

Being able to provide both VFX shots and screens, also on the set, made this project really unique.
